Welcome to Early Expressions Piano Classes! Our Early Explorers classes, geared toward 3- and 4-year-olds, allow children to have a positive and fun introduction to the world of music-making.

Our Early Explorers music classes are an exciting introduction to music for the smallest musician. The goal of this class is music appreciation. Through this class, children are introduced to classical music and composers, sing songs, participate in fun music and movement activities to engage their bodies and minds, learn basic music concepts and terminology, and gain a love and appreciation of music through play!

Early Explorers: Vivaldi's Four Seasons Preschool Piano Camp

This Vivaldi’s Four Seasons Piano Camp will introduce your young students to a year of music, going through each season from Spring through Winter. It works perfectly as a week-long, four-day camp, or as a month-long once-a-week class. Early piano & creative musical skills for young musicians!

Our Mighty Musicians classes, geared toward 5- and 6-year-olds, allow children to have a positive and fun introduction to the world of music-making and give them a great start in learning to play the piano. 

Children in our Mighty Musicians music classes will experience and learn about music through listening, singing, movement and play, and will also use their new found knowledge to work on their basic piano skills. Students will also learn about the great composers and their music, and have the opportunity to do some composing themselves! This class is appropriate for children who have taken the Early Explorers class, have had some piano or music experience, or for those who may not have had a class in the past but are eager to learn and get a jump-start into music!

Mighty Musicians Piano Camp

This Mighty Musicians Piano Camp includes all five Mighty Musicians Lesson Plans, and is perfect as a week-long, five-day camp or a once-a-week class that runs for five weeks. Included in this camp are the following lesson plans: Night and Day, Traffic Jam, Mountains and Hills, Birds of a Feather and Forte Fireworks. Night & Day Lesson Plan: Music Tells a Story	Traffic Jam! Lesson Plan: Music Has Beat & Rhythm	Mountains & Hills: Notes Move Up and Down
In this lesson plan, students learn  that music can tell a story! They explore different musical elements used to create a musical story, including improvising the musical elements on the piano and creating their own musical stories! Students are introduced to Edvard Grieg, and will learn about keyboard topography and piano technique basics.  See more information here. In this lesson plan, students learn that music is made up of a pattern of short and long notes over a steady beat. They are introduced to basic rhythm (including half, quarter, eighth and sixteenth notes) through clapping and speaking words over a steady beat. Students play a pre-staff notation piano piece, focusing on "walking" on their fingertips.
